Provider-specific behaviour

Lloyds Banking Group co-servicing

Lloyds Banking Group supports co-servicing across Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland. This means an end user may start an Open Banking journey through one LBG brand, while the account selected or returned through that journey may be associated with another LBG brand.

For example, an end user may select and authenticate through Bank of Scotland, but one of the returned accounts may be a Halifax account. In this scenario, the Open Banking consent remains linked to the brand used for the journey, while the account-level brand or legal entity may differ.

Atto treats these as separate concepts:

  • Journey / consent provider — the brand selected by the end user and used to create the Open Banking consent.
  • Account-level brand / legal entity — the actual brand or legal entity associated with the account returned by the bank.

This distinction allows Atto to preserve the correct consent and provider context, while also reflecting the most accurate account-level bank information where available.

For LBG co-servicing, this may affect account-level details such as logo, legal entity, or sort-code-related information. It should not be treated as a data mismatch or failed connection. It is expected behaviour for Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland accounts under LBG’s co-servicing model.
