Tokenized account numbers
Providers in the U.S. are adopting the use of Tokenized Account Numbers (TANs) to reduce the potential exposure of sensitive personal information. When you fetch data from a provider that implements this method, TANs are provided instead of the full or masked account numbers. You will find the Tokenized Account Number (TAN) returned in the accountNumber
field, typically located within the identifiers
object in our API responses.
The functionality provided does not enable customers to conduct Bank account verification checks or perform any other form of account number matching for payment purposes.
